Team Kiyah-Splashh took part in the P.A. Paddle Championships over the weekend. It was a good experience, a 'check' for all of us in preparation for the 'real' race which is in June. I rowed for the 20men Mixed Crew category. Didnt manage to get through to the semis. Kinda disappointed, but not disheartened. :) Failure spurs me to work harder.
Had a really hard time during this period. Training makes me damn tired physically, yet I had to force my body into working OT in preparation for my exams. Nonetheless, no regrets! I'm pretty glad I survived through this shit hell-hole. It's over, as from 1500hrs yesterday. :) I did my best and am truly amazed at myself for not falling sick - except for feeling heaty - at all! Now that my brains get to rest , finally, it's time to pull up my socks, tie up my laces, and get down to proper training.
My team captain told us to do our own reflections after the race. Did we give our best and put in our best efforts and such. After staring into space for a long time, I'm sure I gave my best, but, that is not enough. I am simply not fit enough. I need to improve and I want to improve. So, instead of brooding over the loss and sulking at home, I've decided to start training proper from today onwards. Plus, Adidas Sundown Marathon is in a month's time. Yes, it's time to start getting fitter, stronger, faster. I want to win; there's always this competitive spirit in me, the more I fail, the more I'm determined to succeed.
Today on, the true training begins.
On a side note, went to watch Revolutionary Road with Ben and Hugo. Man, that show's marvellous. The acting chops of both Kate and Leonardo will leave you in awe. Brilliant..!
5 thumbs-ups to the show, go catch it!
But, somehow that show brought about many thoughts within me about marriage. It's really not easy for two people to lead lives together as one. The struggles and complexities of it all.. dang, singlehood seems better. However, I still think I'm better suited for starting a family. Hehe.
I think I should end the post here. Got a 'photoshoot' for some catholic society ad.
It's time to revisit my nice warm snuggly bed, with a whole load off my mind. :)
